Community Benevolent Prorgram

CHIA’s community benevolent program is a flexible program offering support to the community on an ad hoc basis as needs arise. It comprises of three main programs.

Gift Giving Program

Our Gift Giving Program responds to the everyday hardships faced by vulnerable children and families across central Vietnam. Through close relationships with local schools, community leaders, and social workers, we identify children in urgent need — whether due to poverty, illness, disability, or family crisis. Support may include school supplies, clothing, bicycles for travel to school, medical assistance, or essential household items.

This flexible approach allows us to act quickly and thoughtfully, ensuring help reaches those who might otherwise be overlooked. Beyond material support, each gift is a message of care and dignity, reminding children that they are seen, valued, and supported by a wider community. By easing immediate burdens, we help children stay in school, maintain their health, and look toward the future with greater confidence.

Disaster Relief

Vietnam is highly vulnerable to floods, storms, and landslides, which disproportionately affect children in low-income communities. Our Disaster Relief Program provides rapid, child-focused assistance when natural disasters strike. We deliver emergency supplies such as food, clean water, clothing, blankets, and hygiene kits, as well as school materials to help children return to learning as quickly as possible.

Working with trusted local partners, we ensure aid reaches the most affected families in a timely and culturally appropriate way. Beyond immediate relief, we support recovery by helping children regain a sense of stability, safety, and routine. In times of crisis, our priority is to protect children’s wellbeing, reduce trauma, and give them the reassurance that they are not facing hardship alone.

Tết & Mid-Autumn Festival Program

For many children in disadvantaged communities, traditional celebrations can be a reminder of what they lack. Our Tết and Mid-Autumn Festival Program ensures these important cultural moments are joyful and inclusive for all children. We provide festive meals, lanterns, mooncakes, small gifts, and community events that allow children to celebrate alongside their peers with pride and happiness.

These gatherings are more than celebrations — they strengthen community bonds, affirm cultural identity, and create cherished childhood memories. By bringing light and joy during Vietnam’s most meaningful festivals, we help children feel valued and connected. Our goal is simple: every child deserves to experience the warmth, wonder, and hope that these traditions represent.
